Project Title / Description

Analysis of media coverage of 1997 presidential election.

The project aims to explore the relevance of Northern Ireland as an issue in the 1997 Presidential Election Campaign. It involves study of print and electronic media and interviews. It is being funded by the Royal Irish Academy.

Masters of Science in Science Communication

DCU and QUB have delivered jointly since 1996 a taught Master's programme in Science Communication. While on the programme students have use of both faculties. End-of-year dissertations are supervised at either University. 40 students from Ireland Britain, US and Canada have completed the programme. Current participants include students from France and Spain

Development Potential

A recently completed research project on communication processes in the GM foods debate was conducted in an all­Ireland framework, with supervisory inputs from DCU and QUB.
